Our nation has been reeling lately with political unrest. Regardless of which ‘side’ you find yourself, the undercurrents of our social climate seems to be one of sustained volatility and instability. Finding solid ground is not a new problem, however. Listen Up! Sardis
    Series: Listen Up!
For many people, this Sunday is the big day. One that has been filled with planning and preparation – maybe even the fulfillment of childhood dreams. I wish it were about church or some significant spiritual experience with Jesus, but instead it’s the most watched television event every year: The Superbowl. While sports may not take on epic religious status in your life, it is a prominent part of our culture – one that can easily distract from eternally important matters. As we continue our study of the 7 churches of Revelation, we find a church in Sardis that was apparently having trouble staying focused on the right things. Join us as we Listen UP! to what Jesus has to say to these ancient churches and to us.

Work and worship sometimes don’t seem to fit together very well. I have known people who have refused jobs due to a ‘Sunday’ or weekend work requirements. How are we supposed to make ends meet if living out our faith means not earning a living? Unfortunately this dilemma is nothing new and as we continue our study of the churches in Revelation, we’ll look at one church where this was a major problem.

    Series: Listen Up!

With the inauguration of our 45th president in the rearview mirror, many questions abound about the future of our country. Depending on who you talk to, it is either going to be great or miserable, most likely a combination of both (like all presidencies). While political leaders change with relative frequency, our God does not and neither should our trust in Him. This week, as we look at the next church addressed in Revelation, we are called to shape up as we Listen Up!

    Series: Listen Up!

This is the month that many in our country realize they over did it on Christmas – whether it’s the hit on the checkbook or the number on the scale, we have a tendency to go big in our celebrations. As we look to the pattern of behavior promoted in the Bible, we see consistently that being ‘rich’ has little to do with earthly possessions, but rather is more about basking in God’s lavish grace. Once again, let’s ‘Listen Up’ to the encouragement of  Scripture as we continue our study into the 7 churches addressed in the book of Revelation.

Make Christmas Great Again: Great Presents
With Christmas just a week a way, some people are still scrambling to find the perfect gift. Should it be practical or a special splurge item? The giver often tries to figure out what token might make their Christmas truly great. When God came down and was born on the first Christmas, the gift was more than just a hero – it was a statement of value. If we can understand that worth, our Christmas will be great again.

Make Christmas Great Again: Great Proclaimation
The story of shepherds watching over their flocks by night and the appearance of angels seems almost commonplace. Maybe you can, like Linus in A Charlie Brown
Christmas, recite from memory the first several verses of Luke 2. The proclamation of the heavenly host loses luster the longer we look, but these spiritual beings suddenly sighted by shepherds should only serve to support our supposition that every remembrance of that incredible night would make every Christmas great again and always.

Make Christmas Great Again: Great Prophecy

Christmas used to look very different. Maybe it was the wonder from our younger years or perhaps the retail rush rapidly ruins our ideal image of what this season should be about. So how do we get that ‘magic’ back or make it shine brighter? Join us as we look to the Bible to help us ‘Make Christmas Great Again’.
